#63 Expressive July
Small update on AtomicSketches July month
👋 Hey, I’m Kumar and welcome to my weekly newsletter. Each week I share Sketchnote(s) on product, leadership, personal growth, and anything that helps you get started on Sketchnoting.
Hey Visual folks.
How are you doing?
I don’t have much to share for this week except a small but gigantic project we took up for July AtomicSketches. It’s visualizing facial expressions for different emotions.
Not 1 or 7 or 10. A new emotion everyday with small variations and combinations of 5 basic emotions. The idea of this project came from the movie Inside Out.
We can make sketchnotes more humane by adding emotional expressions to it. So far I was stuck with 3-5 emotions only. Happy, Sad, Angry, Laugh, Meh, Surprised.
Thought of combining them and creating mix of emotions.
Here are the entries from first 15 days. It’s getting tougher day by day.
And I thought of adding little pointers on what facial gestures can communicate those emotions. I tried doing them in mirror, googled the emotion names, also saw actors expressing them in movies.
I started with full body to express the emotion in first week and today I was struggling to get that expression on face. Some of the community members are doing amazing job of adding colors to make it more expressive.
Once the month is over I will share the entries.
That’s all for today. See you next week.
Thank you for reading Letsketchin. 🥧
